2023.06.29

Keelung City Government has been deeply involved with smart education for many years. To continue promoting “applications of AI research” and “Cloud teaching and information education”, Department of Education Director Liu Meilan and the NCHC of Narlabs Director General Chang Chau-Lyan signed a Memorandum of Understanding today at the Keelung Experiment Center for Research and Development in Education Innovation. The two organizations will work together to promote the three programs of "Education Big Data Analytics", "Smart Campus Enhancement", and "Education Cloud-Assisted Teaching and Training". We look forward to using the professional technology of the NCHC to help improve the quality of education and the effectiveness of student learning in Keelung City.

In this collaboration, the parties will first obtain relevant information about students' learning process through the analysis and processing of education big data, provide diverse tables and charts to help schools and teachers make adjustments to instruction to improve the outcome of students' learning. These will be followed by the strengthening of smart campuses. With the help of AI and sensors, the project will predict and warn about dangerous behaviors and help improve campus safety. The project will try to further improve campus smart management. Finally, it will use the Education Cloud to assist teaching and promote it. Through the Education Cloud Platform, various teaching resources and tools can be integrated and shared to make it convenient for teachers to teach and students to learn independently. This will allow multi-functional information technology applications to help the development and progress of education.

The NCHC Director General Chang Chau-Lyan indicated that he hoped that this collaboration with Keelung City Government would help both parties to quickly deploy the Education Cloud Platform, effectively utilize computing services, boost the value of using data, show the convenience of digital learning, promote interdisciplinary collaboration and benefits of data applications, integrate educational resources, and jointly enjoy the fruit of the collaboration.

Director Liu Meilan said that she looked forward to this cooperation to help the city's students learn better. She thanked the NCHC for assistance, providing cloud operating system services, storing data and files on cloud servers to make it easier for teachers and students so that they do not need to reinstall new software on their own devices when using new teaching software. As long as you are connected to the Education Cloud Platform, you can have a complete computer teaching environment, saving the cost of purchasing software licenses, and automatically updating and upgrading software, without worrying about compatibility problems. This will allow teachers to focus on developing course content and students to focus on learning new knowledge. All this will help modernize Keelung’s teaching environment.
