TWAREN
TaiWan Advanced Research and Education Network (TWAREN) provides high quality network services to Taiwan's universities and research institutes and further serves as a research platform that facilitates the development of advanced network technologies in Taiwan.
TWAREN has the most advanced 400 Gbps backbone that interconnects four core nodes located in Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, and Tainan, respectively. The bandwidth between some core nodes is up to 1.6Tbps. The 13 GigaPOPs, most located at major universities in Taiwan, connect to the core nodes via 800 Gbps bandwidth, and are further protected by TWAREN's double uplink design that maximizes performance and availability.
TWAREN has multifunctional IP routers at each of its main nodes and access points to the backbone network. Besides providing users with traditional IP access to the backbone, it also provides EVPN multipoint VPN, IPv6 services.

TWAREN Domestic Backbone
For users that will be participating in advanced network research, TWAREN provides network research institutes with access to its Testbed for Programmable Networks via EVPN multipoint VPN, and uses its international cables to engage in collaborative research with advanced network research institutes in Japan, the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands.
TWAREN currently has 110 Gbps international links to Los Angeles, Chicago, and peers with other international research and education networks via these two exchange centers.
