NCHC Showcases “Trusted Cloud Research Environment Service” at 2024 Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan

Publicsh Date:2024.12.09
The 2024 Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan, held from December 5 to 8, spotlighted the growing importance of precision medicine research as Taiwan approaches super-aged society status by 2025. With increasing demands for eldercare and chronic disease management, innovation in medical technologies has become ever more crucial. This year, the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs) featured its top-tier research infrastructure and services at the expo, with participation from the National Laboratory Animal Center, the National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC), and the Instrument Technology Research Center—together accelerating the advancement of precision medicine technologies.
At the event, NCHC presented its “Trusted Cloud Research Environment Service”, a platform designed for secure analysis of sensitive data, including biomedical information. Drawing on best practices from the U.S. and EU, the service handles highly sensitive data through a secure remote access model. Users are required to log in remotely to access and analyze sensitive, large-scale datasets using computing and storage resources—without the ability to download raw data. This digital barrier, enforced by robust IT controls, ensures that original datasets remain secure and that analytical results are free of personally identifiable information.
