Domestic and foreign experts on human biological databases gathered at NCHC for exchanges

The Department of Life Sciences of the National Science and Technology Council arranged for internationally renowned human biodata experts to visit NCHC on September 6, 2023, and arranged a meeting with the Department of Medical Affairs of the Ministry of Health and Welfare–the central government competent authority on domestic human body databases, Academia Sinica, and the NCHC construction service team to discuss international trends in governance structure for data utilization. This symposium aims to promote international professional exchanges, share the latest biomedical and data science developments, strengthen international cooperation, and improve Taiwan's international influence in the field of human biodata. 

Distinguished guests include Jere Tala, Deputy Representative of Finland Trade Center in Taiwan, Eero Punkka, Director of VTT Technical Research Center of Finland, founding president Professor Datuk Dr. A Rahman A Jamal, National University of Malaysia Medical Molecular Biology Institute, Nino da Silva, BC Platforms Chief Commercial Officer, Susan Wacklin , Asia Pacific Business Development Director, BC Platforms Taiwan (Prisma Biotech), Nomura Research Institute, etc. NCHC Director General Chang Chau Lyan, Deputy Director General Lin Fang Pang, section leader Wang Yu Tai, and members of the NCHC biomedical information team shared the plan for Gateway to Health Data Taiwan (GHD TW) Platform which the NCHC will provide assistance to implement. They also discussed NCHC's smart cities and biodata virtual reality.
