Carton W. Chen, honorary professor of Event founder National Yangming Jiaotong University, said that Biology Retreat had been held since 1985, and the original intention of holding it is to create a relaxed and pleasant place of exchange in the biology community in Taiwan so that people of different generations can communicate and experience can be passed on and research can be stimulated. This year's agenda is also very rich. Domestic and foreign leaders in the field of biomedical information gather and exchange, including some young professors such as Wei Tzu-Tang, winner of the National New Venture Award, Assistant Professor Wei Tzu-Tang, Institute of Pharmacology, National Taiwan University School of Medicine, Assistant Professor Wang Chihao, winner of the Distinguished Young Research Scholar Award of China Medical University, and senior female scientists such as Yuh-Ju Sun, vice dean of the School of Life Sciences and Medicine, winner of the Tsinghua University Outstanding Research Award. and Professor Lo Chufang, an internationally renowned outstanding female scientist in Taiwan.
The National Center for High-Performance Computing has long been engaged in research in the field of biomedical information platform and biomedical computing, and was invited to join the [Core Facilities and Research Resources] session on the second day to discuss how the National Center for High-performance Computing has provided information technology support for biomedical research and to host a booth to show the result of the service provided by the biomedical information team at the National Center for High-performance Computing. Out of Taiwan's six core strategic industry promotion plans, the precision health industry has budgeted and invested in the construction of huge databases about genes and national health insurance in Taiwan. That has driven the vigorous development of biomedical business opportunities in Taiwan, such as precision prevention and diagnosis, treatment, and care systems. This year, more biomedical start-up teams have joined the retreat. The NCHC team conducted in-depth exchanges with scholars in various fields during the three-day gathering and exhibition, hoping to generate more cooperation opportunities.
