The first U.S.-Taiwan Science and Technology Cooperation Dialogue Meeting, and the official U.S. delegation visited the National Center for High-performance Computing

Publicsh Date:2023.05.23
The inaugural "U.S.- Taiwan Science and Technology Cooperation Dialogue (STC-D)" meeting was held in Taipei on May 22, marking a new milestone for Taiwan-US technology cooperation. The meeting focused on five major topics:  semiconductor research and application, medical supply chain resilience, cancer research, simulated environmental research, research integrity and diversity inclusion. To dive deep on these topics, the National Science and Technology Council had made special arrangements for the American delegation to visit relevant scientific research institutions in Hsinchu on May 23, including the National Center for High-performance Computing of the NARLabs.

In addition to the US State Department, the US delegation included delegates from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health (NIH/NCI), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). During their visit, the NCHC held in-depth discussions on scientific research achievements on supercomputers, talent training for cybersecurity, and biomedical information platforms. Because the National Center for High-performance Computing had previously collaborated with the NSF and the NCI, it is hoped that, through this showcase, more collaboration projects will emerge.
