Taichung VGH Director and department heads visited the NCHC to discuss collaboration on smart medical care

Dr. Chen Shih-Ann, the new director of Taichung Veterans General Hospital, took office in January and directed his staff to contact the NCHC in the hope of bringing two parties together to jointly promote smart medical care. Dr. Chen and his department heads of critical care, information management, nursing, pharmacy, anesthesia, cardiovascular center, and radiation oncology visited the NCHC on February 19. They inquired about the resources at the NCHC the use of which is open for the public to apply under the Ministry of Science and Technology plan. They learned about the role of the NCHC in building a national medical data platform and saw the MiiL and vvViewer 3D medical visualization technology developed by the center's scientific visual computing laboratory.

During the meeting, the two parties also discussed a relatively new application across nations and hospitals of joint learning in-depth medical computing. They also discussed how the DAS data analysis service platform may assist in the analysis of medical data, and how to help the visual training of bedsore examinations in a clinical setting. The two parties plan to engage in in-depth collaboration on the topics discussed today in the hope of helping lift the development of smart medical care in Taiwan to higher levels.
