Two months ago, led by Deputy Director Su-chen Yu of Department of Information Management, TaiPower, TaiPower visited NCHC to seek for the cooperation possibility when NCHC was planning the “Data Analysis Service (DAS)” which can provide data flow integration and cooperation environment, and has the schedule required to add value to data and produce intelligence and the tools required by every segment so that the processing of source materials is smooth, including collection, integration, cleaning, organization, data analysis, model establishment, and mode deployment. After negotiation and discussion, both parties thought that DAS may help in this TaiPower Big Data Hackathon. Thus, the application of such platform will be gradually and deeply introduced in this competition to help every participating team make full use of this tool, so as to contribute the competition result.
“Talent Soapbox” is one of the initial segments to the overall competition. This year, the competition was held on September 11. The teams are not only required to elaborate on the main problems to be solved, but also need to explain the software/hardware environment and talents required for problem solving for the convenience of the internal and external groups match-making. In this year, TaiPower also invited NTU, NCKU, NextDrive, Green Energy and Environment Research Labs., ITRI, and NCHC DAS team. In the competition, NCHC also made a detailed explanation for Taiwan Computer Cloud (TWCC) and Data Analysis Service (DAS), which also attracted the great interest of teams. From 11:00 to 13:00, the Q&A and interaction were constant, and the NCHC team also benefited a lot from the interaction.
