Overview
HPC Asia 2009 is the most anticipated international gathering of the Asia Pacific region’s HPC communities. The HPC Asia conference is held every 18 months and focuses on elevating HPC research and development capabilities within the region. Since 1995, more than 400 experts from 20 countries in the Asia Pacific area have attended the event to discuss HPC-related topics as they apply to applications development and users alike. At HPC Asia, researchers from various disciplines share their insight and are able to collaborate more closely via these meetings.
Representatives from developed nations such as the U.S.A., Canada, Germany, and England also participate in this conference and are actively seeking out collaborative opportunities in global information infrastructure establishment. The conference also provides exhibition booths for vendors. Taiwanese scholars are invited to participate through technical programs, tutorials, and workshops as well. These meetings create an excellent opportunity to network with the luminaries of various scientific fields.
Since HPC Asia’s first gathering in Taiwan in 1995, the event has been held in Korea, Singapore, China, Australia, India, and Japan. After so many years, the NCHC is honored to host the 10th HPC Asia 2009 meeting. In the last two years, APAN was held Summer 2007 in Sian, China, Winter 2008 in Hawaii, and Summer 2008 in New Zealand. After a great deal of effort, the NCHC obtained the hosting right to the 27th APAN 2009 meeting. Via the jointly held HPC Asia and APAN events, Taiwan’s information technology, education, and economy will be stimulated. This conference will aid in integrating Taiwan into global information technology and will elevate Taiwan’s position in the Asia Pacific region’s HPC and information networks.
