Formosa 5 is one of the NCHC's self-built cluster computing system. It integrates NCHC's solid strength in cluster computing.

Currently, GPU HPC Service on Formosa 5 allows users to login, compile CUDA codes and submit their jobs.

 Hardware Configuration

   76 computing nodes. Each computing node consists of:

     1. CPU - Intel Xeon x5670 six cores 2.93GHz x2
     2. Main Memory – 96GB
     3. Hard Disk – 120GB SSD
     4. Network – 4x QDR (40Gb) InfiniBand HCA
     5. GPU –NVIDIA TESLA M2070 x3

    6 storage nodes. Each storage node consists of:

     1. CPU – Intel Xeon x5670 six cores 2.93GHz x2 
     2. Main Memory – 48GB
     3. Hard Disk – SAS 600GB x14, 120GB SSD x2
     4. Network – 4x QDR (40Gb) InfiniBand Card

  Network

    1. Gigabit switch – 48 ports 10/100/1000Mbps switch x9
    2. InfiniBand switch –Mellanox Grid Director 4200

 Software Configuration

    OS - CentOS 6 x86_64
