The National Center for Typhoon and Flood Research (NCTFR):
Beginning May 2006, the NCTFR will have several entry and senior-level scientific and engineering job openings.

Job Requirements
|
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. or M.S. degree in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Atmospheric Science, Hydrology, Soil Mechanics, Oceanography, Hydrometeorology-related Instrumentations, Applied Mathematics, Computer Fluid Dynamics, Physics, or Environmental Chemistry, Modeling, and Simulations. Demonstrated excellence in research is required for senior-level positions. For entry level positions, potential for quality research is required. For applicants possessing a M. S. degree, working experience and/or publication is preferred.
The successful candidate will add to the Center's expertise in the development of the aforementioned earth system models, parallel computing, modeling environment, data collection and analyses, visualization, and applied and basic research contributing to the main mission of the Center. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to join emerging multidisciplinary typhoon, flood, and computational science research initiatives. The center possesses strong collaborative research programs with universities and other national centers.
