Introduction
|
Scientific visualization, at its most basic level, is the ability to transform simple computer graphics into large dataset computer simulations such as high definition images and/or animations. These simulations are used to gain a deeper understanding of the data's content and meaning. Virtual reality (VR) and digital multimedia can enhance the representation of scientific visualization results and diversify its manifestation. The Visualization and Interactive Media Laboratory (VIML) at the NCHC has been serving the Center and research institutes around Taiwan for over a decade. It is because of the VIML's efforts that Taiwan's scientists and engineers are finally beginning to realize the benefits scientific visualization has to offer. The NCHC has a long and successful history of creating high-end visualization simulations and developing the software tool sets required to produce them. Our expertise in the area of VR simulation is unsurpassed in Taiwan. We constantly develop new scientific visualization technology to serve domestic industry, government, and academia.
