In order to provide users with a convenient high-performance computing environment, National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC) established the application software service platform for users to utilize various engineering and science application software. Users can access the software package (such as the popular engineering software ANSYS and ABAQUS or the scientific software GAUSSIAN) easily via web browser (such as IE, FireFox). This platform eliminated various complicated settings of environments and remote displays (X-window). Users can conveniently utilize the application software provided by NCHC to solve science and engineering problems.

Since being founded, NCHC has endeavored to assist in domestic scientific research development and in enhancing the competitiveness of engineering technology. It has established an abundant and diverse computer-simulation environment. This environment provides all fields of famous professional application software, including the software related to engineering and science (such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, GAUSSIAN, etc.), mathematical tools and numerical libraries, and so on. The NCHC aims to assist users in implementing designs and analysis for various engineering problems and academic research. In addition, NCHC provides many kinds of numerical databases in chemistry and biology, so that users in academia and research fields can go online to search for data needed.   

The application software service platform allows users to activate software via web page. In the past, under Unix or Linux systems, displays of the interactive graphic interface of the software required a lot of installation and settings on users' computers. These extra works usually caused many difficulties and inconveniences to users. Through this software service platform, users can easily and quickly use various kinds of application software provided by NCHC. This platform will also automatically distribute computing load evenly to back-end computers, so as to balance loading and effectively use computing resources. Meanwhile, this platform also provides related instructions and information for applying computing resources, so that users can fulfill most of their needs. At present, this platform  is officially open for users in academia and research fields to utilize it.
