The Alliance of Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (ACCTA) hosted the 3rd Conference on August 31st at the Instrument Technology Research Center. Total of 105 participants from industry, government, and academia joined the Conference. The ACCTA invited 5 renowned experts to address the most recent developments of cloud computing, and 5 other experts were invited to lead the panel discussion.
On Sep. 7th, “Clonezilla,” developed by NCHC, was elected as the top 50 best Linux applications 2011 by the readers of British magazine “Linux Format”. The magazine introduced Clonezilla as recovery and backup tools for operating system. Clonezilla can help users migrate to a larger hard drive in a handy way.
On September 22, 2011, the final match and award ceremony of 2011 Taiwan CUDA Programming Contest, co-hosted by NCHC, NVIDIA, and ACCTA, took place at NCHC headquarters in Hsinchu. The championship of this contest was won by “Miracle” team from NTHU.
SC, the premier international conference for high performance computing (HPC), networking, storage and analysis, is an annual event that the NCHC had continuously participated in the past 12 years. This year, we will host a booth to showcase the latest R&D achievements in Software Applications Development, Cloud Computing, Interactive HPC using GPU, Eco and sensor-based technologies, Biomedical Computing and Simulation, Network and Information security at SC11. Several of these topics will be demonstrated live each day of the event.
In order to promote the applications of high-performance computing research, to share the technical knowledge, and to present the results of the computational research, the NCHC organizes a workshop for HPC users annually. In the workshop, the NCHC invites experts to deliver speeches on the latest R&D trends in HPC. We also invite our key users of computing resources to share their newest R&D results in physics, chemistry, engineering and other fields of research.
