The Computational Biology Team of the NCHC and the Brain Research Center of National Tsing Hua University jointly established the world’s first three-dimensional neural image database and constructed a Drosophila neural wiring diagram. The major breakthrough of the research findings has been published as the cover story in the January 2011 issue of Current Biology.
Director Kuo-Ning Chiang of NCHC is currently the Distinguished Professor at the Department of Power Mechanical Engineering, National Tsing Hua University. When teaching and doing research in the National Tsing Hua University, Director Chiang won the Outstanding Research Awards of National Science Council from 2003 to 2006 for his excellent work on the study of micro-electronic packaging, electronic component simulation analysis, and a reliability evaluation theory and verification. The winning of the 2010 Outstanding Research Award of National Science Council is recognition of Prof. Chiang for his years of devotion to academic research and the collaboration between academia and industry.
