The student team from National Tsing Hua University, led by the HPC team of National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC) and Prof. Yeh-Ching Chuang of National Tsing Hua University, won the championship in Student Cluster Competition (SCC). NCHC’s robust activity in the cultivation of high-performance computing talent has achieved tremendous accomplishments.
For the purpose of promoting application development of Taiwan’s cloud computing technology, the NCHC established the Alliance of Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (ACCTA) in August 2010. In order to advance upgrades of cloud technology in collaboration with the resources of industries, academia, and government, the NCHC hosted the first conference of the alliance on November 30th.
The “2010 Southeast Asia International Joint Research and Training Program in High-Performance Computing and Applications and Networking Technology (SEAIP 2010)” and the Pacific Rim Applications and Grid Middleware Assembly Institute (PRAGMA Institute), sponsored by the National Science Council’s (NSC) Department of International Cooperation and the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARL), was hosted by the National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC) from December 6th to 10th at NCHC’s Taichung branch and Hui-sun Experimental Forest located in Nantou, Taiwan.
