The International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis, SC10, was held in New Orleans, USA, from November 14th to 19th. This grand event was sponsored by IEEE and ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) providing attendees with the perfect stage to participate in technical discussions, educational training, and exhibition of products and R&D achievements in high performance computing, networking, storage, and analysis.
In order to promote the applications of high-performance computing research, to exchange technologies, and to highlight the service effectiveness of NCHC, the NCHC organized a workshop for HPC users on November 4th. A total of 180 participants attended the meeting, as well as a number of influential high- performance computer users and authoritative figures. The workshop also showcased 49 posters detailing the research findings of HPC users. This was a wonderful occasion for participants to learn from each other.
The TANet2010 Conference, an annual event, was held at the National University of Tainan, from October 27th to 29th. The theme of this meeting was “Surfing the Cloud and Enjoying an Intelligent Life”. The focus was to explore the methods of constructing a reliable network of government providing services to ensure and improve quality of life, from perspectives of innovative services and humanity concern. This annual conference is an important event in Taiwanese academic and network industry. As issues surrounding network technologies, policies, contents, and management have been attracting public attention, nearly 400 delegates from the industry (such as TANet operators), academia, and government attended the TANet2010 Seminar.
