SC, the premier international conference for high performance computing (HPC), networking, storage and analysis, is an annual event that the NCHC had continuously participated in the past 11 years. This year, continuing the tradition, we will display our latest R&D achievements in Biomedical Computing and Simulation, Water Resources Management, Software Applications Development, Cloud Computing, Network and Information security, and Eco and sensor-based technologies at SC10. Several of these topics will be demoed live each day of the event.
Cloud Computing has become the new mainstream for future information applications and is regarded as the most important contemporary technology trend. To drive Taiwan toward a technological power, the Executive Yuan has included Cloud Computing as one of the four emerging intellectual industries and approved the “Cloud Computing Industry Development Plan” to actively promote and develop a new blueprint for a Cloud Computing environment.
The sixth Taipei INST was hosted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, National Science Council, Council of Agriculture, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of National Defense in Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1, from Sep. 30th to Oct. 3rd, 2010. At the venue are two key feature pavilions, namely, the Invention Pavilion and the Technomart Pavilion.
Since the 1970’s, when the Internet started and began its high technology development for national defense, with over forty years of improvements, it has been applied extensively in everyday life. According to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the latest statistics show that the global internet population will exceed two billion.
