*  Coupled Analysis

Recently, the NCHC has begun developing coupled simulations of complex multi-physic applications. We do this in order to more precisely determine the physical characteristics of the simulated devices. Some fluid-structure interaction (FSI) and thermal-electric-structure coupling applications we have worked on recently are listed below:

  • Thermal-structure coupled analysis in the DC casting of aluminum slabs
  • Vascular flow & blood vessel structure coupling and respiratory air way coupled simulation (FSI-based)
  • Micro cantilever beam damping analysis (FSI-based)
  • MEMS device static-structure coupled analysis
