The NCHC is the only national-level high performance computing center in Taiwan. The NCHC is equipped with several advanced high performance computing mainframes and a reliable R&D network. The NCHC also provides a solid foundation and propulsive force for domestic industry, government, academia, and research circles in HPC, networking, and data storage.

At present, the NCHC has three primary directives:

1) To plan and install HPC mainframes, design and construct PC clusters, develop various application software and databases, and to provide HPC-based services for domestic industry, government, academia, and research circles.

2) To use its computing power and influence and relationships with domestic academia to improve the existing quality of service, initiate new types of service content, and focus on HPC-related R&D.

3) To extend HPC and networking education to domestic industry, government, academia, and research circles, to develop educational scientific content, and to cultivate domestic high performance computing talent for the future.

Under the drive of professional willpower, the NCHC will, in time, fully realize these missions. At the same time, the NCHC will continue to stride toward its goal of becoming a world-class high-performance computing center.
