1988 September	Taiwan's National Science Council (NSC) suggested planning a supercomputing center to assist researchers on a national level.
	1989 July	The NSC and Ministry of Education (MOE) formed a committee to conduct a feasibility study.
	1991 January	The Executive Yuan approved the 5-year plan of development for the NCHC
	1992 February	The NCHC headquarters was established in the Hsinchu Science Park
	1993	The NCHC headquarters opened its doors to the public and began providing HPC services
	1999	The NCHC assumed responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the TANet2 R&D network
	2002	The NCHC's south business unit was established The NCHC accepted the Executive Yuan’s “Challenge 2008” mandate to develop and maintain the TaiWan Advanced Research and Education Network (TWAREN)
	2003	The NCHC's corporate status was changed to a non-profit (i.e. incorporated) organization
	2005 January	The NCHC's southern business unit was completed and began serving as TWAREN's Network Operation Center (NOC)
	2005 February	NCHC received ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management certification
	2005 May	The NCHC's central business unit Grid Operation/Knowledge Management Center was established.
	2006 May	The NCHC received “Technology Efficiency” certification
	2006 June	The NCHC received ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Management certification
	2007 April	Dr. Fang Pang Lin Wins the "2006 Award for Outstanding Contributions in Science and Technology."
	2007 June	The NCHC placed 35th on the TOP500 supercomputing list
	2007 November	The NCHC's open source-based software, Diskless Remote Boot in Linux (DRBL), won first place in “Public Sector Applications” category at the Libre Software Meeting in France
	2007 December	Dr. Jan-Li Wang received the Golden Eagle Award for the Handicapped from Taiwan's Ministry of the Interior (MOI)
	2009 August	The NCHC and Japan’s NII sign a MOU
	2010 February	The NCHC signs a MOU with Walsin Lihwa Corp.
	2010 August	The NCHC founds the Alliance of Cloud Computing Technologies and Applications (ACTTA)
	2010 November	The NCHC finishes the establishment of the self-built supercomputer-- Formosa 3
	2011 May	The NCHC receives ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 27001:2007
	2011  June	The NCHC deploys the “Windrider” (a.k.a. ALPUS system) supercomputer possessing 177 TFLOPS computational capability.The Windrider, ranked 42nd on Top500 supercomputing list, is the Taiwan’s first high-performance supercomputer with more than 100 TFLOPS computational capability.
	2011 November	The NCHC finishes the establishment of the self-built supercomputer-- Formosa 4
	2011 November	The NCHC Wins One Gold and One Silver Medals at the iENA Nuremberg International Trade Fair
	2012 May	The NCHC signs a MOU with Japan’s MIRACLE LINUX
